We are seeking a Solutions Architect to research, design and develop new systems, applications, and cyber solutions that span multiple domains such cybersecurity guidelines, continuous monitoring, risk management for enterprise-wide systems and networks.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
Research, assemble and ensure system security needs are established and maintained for operations development, security requirements definition, security risk assessment, systems analysis, systems design, security test and evaluation, certification and accreditation, systems hardening, vulnerability testing and scanning, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning and recommends sound, practical long term cyber solutions to complex issues.
Provide analytical support for security policy development and analysis.
Integrate new architectural features into existing and new infrastructures, design cyber security architectural artifacts, provide architectural analysis of cyber security features and relate existing system to future needs, and ongoing trends, and emerging technologies.
Embed advanced forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction.
Provide engineering recommendations.
Identify risks and risk-reduction strategies for proper integration into our environment and resolves integration and testing issues.
May interface with external entities including law enforcement, intelligence and other government organizations and agencies.
Bachelor's degree in Information System Security, Cyber Security, MIS, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or relevant discipline plus five or more years of experience; or equivalent (relevant associates degree plus 9 years of relevant experience; or 13 years of relevant experience with no degree).
Experience in a cyber related field such as computer system administration, network administration, software development, or computer security.
Ability to obtain and maintain a required US DOE security clearance and SCI clearance, which may require a polygraph test.
Master's degree in relevant discipline plus two or more years experience; or doctorate in relevant discipline.
Current DOD TS, DOE Q, or TS/SCI clearance.
Experience working in a US Government cyber security program, or knowledge and experience with cyber security orders and policies.
Ability to apply cyber security standards, directives, guidance and policies to an architectural framework.
Cyber security certifications (e.g. CISSP, CEH, CISM, Sec+).
Experience with Sandia's cyber security requirements, developing and managing security plans.
Configuration Management experience.
Experience with advanced forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction, including dead system analysis and volatile data collection and analysis into cyber security design.
Ability to develop and manage integrated solution roadmaps.
Ability to identify architectural risk and propose alternatives.
Practical experience with and knowledge of APT intrusion sets.
Deep understanding of networking, system administration, architectures and security elements.
Ability to differentiate between anomalous traffic patterns caused by misbehaving; and create a timeline of intruder activity.

Security Clearance :
Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) granted Q-level security clearance.
Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications.
